What's Your Fee?
My fee is $215 per session. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based upon need and availability. We can discuss your fee on our initial phone call.
Do You Take Insurance?
Not directly. If you have PPO Health Insurance, a health savings account, or medical reimbursement account through your employer, I can provide you with a statement for reimbursement. Check with your insurer about “out-of-network” reimbursement.
How does therapy work?
Therapy is a space where client and therapist work together to a) shift behaviors, b) reduce negative thinking patterns, c) express & process emotions, and d) gain insight on past events, including childhood.
You may know there are many different types of therapy - you may have heard of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (focusing on shifting negative thoughts & consciously choosing new behaviors), and Psychodynamic Therapy (exploring how your past relationships and experiences impact who you are now, as well as the role of emotions in your life) or others.
What Kind of therapist are you?
I practice a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Psychodynamic Therapy. For couples therapy, I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method. In our first few sessions, we will get clear on what type (or blend) works best for you.
Is Therapy Confidential?
Therapy is completely confidential except for the following limitations to confidentiality:
I may discuss our sessions in consultation with professional colleagues. Your name and other identifying information would be omitted from these discussions.
If I learn of a serious threat to self and or others.
If there is evidence of, or reasonable suspicion of, child, elder, or dependent adult abuse or neglect.
If I receive a court order to appear or produce client records.
If you are trying to get insurance reimbursement, some information may be given to your insurance company, after you sign a release of information form.
What happens during the initial 30 minute free phone conversation?
We will discuss the issues you are hoping to work on in therapy, as well as your goals. You can ask me any questions you may have for me, including logistical or about how I work. At the end of our conversation we will determine whether it feels like a good fit to work together.
